Peloton vs Echelon, this is a peloton bike vs echelon bike comparison video. This is the $2450 Peloton Bike+ and this is the $499 Echelon Bike from Amazon. If you're in the market to buy an indoor cycling bike, this may be a the $1851 question you're trying to answer, and in the next few minutes I'm going to do my best to show you everything I can about the similarities and differences of these two highly popular indoor cycling bikes. Before we get started with this peloton bike vs echelon bike comparison, I want to mention all of the numbers and information in this video is what's available at the time this was published so if your watching sometime in the future, check the description box text below this video to see any updates or new product information, and I'll include a link to everything you see in this video as well. Let me start out by saying this is not an apples to apples comparison, despite the similar looks of the two indoor cycling bikes. Let's start out by taking a look at what is similar between the peloton bike and the echelon bike. First and foremost, you can get a killer workout on either of these two indoor cycling bikes, which is the entire point of owning one of these machines in the first place. The truth is, the Peloton is a nicer indoor cycling bike, but you can get a great workout on the Echelon at a fraction of the cost, which I should probably also mention that not only will you pay more up front for the cost of the peloton bike itself, you'll also need to pay the Peloton Member monthly membership fee which is currently $39 per month (if this changed i'll provide the update below this video). If you get the Echelon bike and you want to specifically do Peloton classes, you can simply sign up for the Peloton Digital App which is only $12.99 per month and have access to the same exact classes, but you do lose some features going this route which i'll tell you more about in a moment. From a distance the peloton bike and the echelon bike look pretty similar. They're both black indoor cycling bikes with some lettering along the same spot on the bike, the both have the flywheel on the front of the bike, they both have a red resistance knob that you turn right to increase resistance, and left to reduce resistance, each of which you can push in to put the brake on and stop the flywheel. Both the peloton bike plus and echelon bike have black circular adjustment knobs in order to raise and lower the handle bars, and the seat, and you can also adjust the saddle forwards and backwards as well as adjust the tilt seat angle on each bike. Both of the bikes lack the ability to adjust the handlebars forwards and backwards, each bike also has two small wheels on the fron of the bike to allow you to “easily” move the bike around as needed (one of the bikes is much easier to move, which i'll touch on more in a moment), and also each of these bikes have adjustable feet on the four corners of the bike in case your floor is not perfectly level. And two of the major things these two bikes have in common is they both have magnetic resistance, and they are both belt driven, which are two very in demand features to have on an indoor cycling bike because it makes for a quiet, and lower maintenance bike then a bike with an old school physical resistance knob, or a chain driven bike. The final similarity of the two bikes is they each have internal sensors built into the bike that gives you feedback about your resistance and cadence (how fast your pedaling), which are the key metrics used to follow along with Peloton cycling classes, however this is where the differences start. Differences. The first and most obvious difference between the peloton bike and the echelon bike is one comes with a screen and speakers built into the bike, and the echelon bike has no screen whatsoever. I'll tell you more about this in just a moment but let's look at some of the other key differences in the peloton vs echelon bike comparison. The peloton has a heavier and larger diameter flywheel, which makes a big difference in the way riding these two bikes feels.A heavier flywheel helps to smooth out cycling motion and promote a consistent cadence, Additionally the peloton has a much longer “chainstay” which results in a more stable and smooth feel compared to a short chainstay which is considered to have a quick and snappy feel to it in comparison.peloton bike vs echelon bike SummaryNow let's wrap this Peloton vs Echelon video up with my final thoughts.
