යාපනය මහජන පුස්තකාලය

යාපනය මහජන පුස්තකාලය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ උතුරු පළාතේ යාපනය නගරයේ පිහිටි ප්‍රධාන සංස්කෘතික හා ඓතිහාසික ස්ථානයකි. 1933 දී ආරම්භ වූ මෙම පුස්තකාලය බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය යටත්විජිත වාස්තුවිද්‍යාත්මක ශෛලියෙන් යුක්ත වන අතර, එකල ආසියාවේ විශාලතම පුස්තකාලයකින් එකක් ලෙස සැලකේ. 1981 දී ගිනිබත් වුවද, පසුව ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කර නැවත විවෘත කරන ලදී. 

යාපනය මහජන පුස්තකාලය පිළිබඳ වැදගත් කරුණු:

ඓතිහාසික වටිනාකම: මෙය කොළඹ මහජන පුස්තකාලයට පසුව ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඇති දෙවන ප්‍රධානතම මහජන පුස්තකාලයයි.

වාස්තුවිද්‍යාව: යාපනය කොටුව ආසන්නයේ පිහිටි සුදු පැහැති සුන්දර ගොඩනැගිල්ලකි.

පොත් එකතුව: 1981 වසරේදී විනාශ වීමට පෙර පොත් සහ අත්පිටපත් 97,000 කට අධික ප්‍රමාණයක් මෙහි තිබුණි.

නැවත ගොඩනැගීම: 2001 වසරේදී නවීකරණය කරන ලද ගොඩනැගිල්ල මහජනතාව සඳහා විවෘත කරන ලදී.

පාලනය: යාපනය මහා නගර සභාව මගින් පාලනය වේ. 
Jaffna Public Library

The Jaffna library is a prominent cultural landmark in Jaffna.Srilanka known for its restored classical architecture and history as one of Asia's largest libraries before being destroved and rebuilt.Originally built in 1933, It was burned down in 1981But was subsequently renovated and reopened.Today it is a symbol of Jaffna's heritage and serves as a key resource for students and researchers with colkections including local books,palm leaf manuscripts and historical documents.

History
First built in 1933,it was destroyed by fire in 1981 and later rebuilt.With a new complex being built in 2001.The library is considered a symbol of pride for the people of Jaffna and a symbol of tamil culture.

Architecture
The library features restored classical architecture and a grand symmentrical facade.The building was designed in the indo saracenic styles.

Collections
It extensive collection once included nearly 100000 books and manuscripts. It new houses various materials includong reference booksl,archives and resources on Srilankan folklore,culture and history.

Current Use
It remains an active center for learning and research used by local students university students and researchers from both Srilanka and abroad.
