Figueroa Fatal Crash / Highland Park 7.25.19

HIGHLAND PARK - One person died in a solo vehicle crash after the driver struck a pole at a high rate of speed. Three people were in the vehicle when it struck the pole. The family of the driver was at the scene quickly fairly quickly. All three victims were found still inside the car by the family before the driver's brother pulled him out of the driver's seat and onto the ground next to the car. It was originally reported that the driver was ejected.

Two people were trapped inside the car when LAFD arrived. After a 45 minute extrication and the use of the Jaws of Life tools, a female was pulled from the car and a male was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and female were both transported to the hospital in critical condition. LAPD is investigating the crash.
