Don Rendell & Bill LeSage 1960

Recorded on a Tanberg R2R (which still works), with one mic.
All faded photos are from the event which was on 19th December 1960 at Bagshawe's Social and Sports Club hall, Dunstable, Bedfordshire.
I (Alan Higgs) was on drums, Don on tenor and Bill on piano. Frank Marchant was the bass player. Frank and Bill sadly deceased now but from all accounts Don is still playing.
Event was our Christmas Jazz Club where we managed to get these superb guests visit from London.
Coming from one mic the sound is a bit crap but once you get into the great British Jazz of the time you should forget the poor sound, lol, well I do!
The tune was the old standard entitled "Shine" or "Shine away your Blues'ies" performed by trad and modern jazz alike.
Be great if Don Rendell stumbles upon this! He will have no idea !
