2021 GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge Round 4 Briggs Heavy Final 5/15/2021

Final for round 4 of the GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge Briggs LO206 class. After finishing 4th in the Pre-Final I started this race in 4th. I knew that if I had any chance to race with the karts starting 1st and 2nd I had to have a really good start and get on their bumpers. The start was okay. I fell in line in fourth but my kart was a little bit to free and was sliding the turns so I lost the front three karts. Around lap seven or eight the leaders ran down a lap down kart. The lapped gave the leaders plenty of room to go by when my teammate in 3rd was going to go by him in turn six the lapper turned down in front of him. He had to lock the brakes to avoid hitting the lapper but I had to go way wide to avoid hitting him. I went off track and lost two positions in the process. Once I got my tires cleaned off I ran down the two that passed me. I knew I was faster then them but was having a hard time completing the pass. On the second to last lap I went to pass the 4th place kart going into turn four. I thought I had enough of my kart next to him to see I was on his inside but I guess he didn’t see me and turned across my nose spinning us both out. When it rains it pours. I ended up 9th. I had the speed to be a third place kart all day and in the race. I didn’t have anything do the top two. They were in their own class. The results doesn’t show the speed I had. Also this is the last race with this chassis. I will be getting a new 2021 MGM chassis that I am very excited about. Next race is in June and hope to have a winning kart then.
