Alexa I. Canady, MD, FACS, the first African American female neurosurgeon, delivered the Olga M. Jonasson Lecture: The Journey: Becoming a Neurosurgeon and Back Again. In her presentation, she talks about finding and leaving neurosurgery, as well as the need to attract more young surgeons to the specialty.
