Duke Psychiatrist and Neuroscientist Discusses the Next Big Idea in Brain Research

School of Medicine Professor Kafui Dzirasa joined President Barack Obama on a panel discussion in October at the White House Frontiers Conference in Pittsburgh. Dzirasa, Harvard Professor Atul Gawande, patient advocate and cellist Zoe Keating and scientist Riccardo Sabatini shared ideas about the future of medicine and health care innovation. Dzirasa provided a short tutorial on the workings of the brain and how the next steps in research will require a bold engineering approach.
