Make, Create, Play: Abstract/Mondrian inspired painting with sponges

This creative video is part of the 'Make, Create, Play' series which explores different hand-based, creative activities which are suitable for all ages within the home environment.

This video focuses on one technique (painting with sponges) to create 2 types of abstract art that are suitable and fun for all ages:
1. Freestyle sponge painting abstract art
2. Mondrian inspired sponge painting abstract art.

Materials used:
1. Paper/card (this can be any paper/card from blank paper to used envelopes and everything in between!)
2. Paint (poster paints, acrylic paints, water-soluble paints etc). I have used 3 colours but you can use as many, or as few, as you'd like
3. Sponge (I used a scourer and cut it into 3 sections which you'll see in the video)
4. Masking tape (or washi tape)
5. A ruler
6. A black sharpie (you can also use black paint, a black pencil or a black crayon).

You can watch the video as a whole, keep it running in the background as you create alongside the video, pause the video and return to it whenever works for you or skip to specific times to focus in on different techniques/objects.
