Bunion, shoulder pain, bruxism / grinding teeth - Specific Chiropractic NYC

Patient came to us complaining about the left bunion pain and right shoulder pain. During consultation, we learned the patient also has right TMJ pain and grinds teeth during the day and night - also known as bruxism.

A thorough structural test and Gonstead examination revealed although she has idiopathic scoliosis since childhood, her sacrum (foundation) was the major structural abnormality that started the domino effect all the way up to the head resulting in her TMJ and bruxism. Correction of the sacrum will eventually alleviate the TMJ and bruxism.

Two more structural abnormalities were also detected and corrected in the mid back / dorsal spine that was affecting her right shoulder by decreasing nerve function to her right scapula. Correction of the two structural abnormalities restored nerve function to the scapula.

Afterwards, her right scapula was evaluated which was slightly misaligned but did not require correction. Instead, gentle mobilization and pumping of the subscapular bursa (cushion pad between the shoulder blade and rib cage) was all that was needed to alleviate her right shoulder pain symptom.
