In this Classic Cocktail Masterclass, I explore why The Manhattan is a Cocktail Unicorn - one of those rare drinks that can be made in pretty much any bar in the world. Simple, yet classic.
I also explore the history of the drink, (including some myths & legends), take a closer look at the ingredients I've chosen and discuss the merits of the Dry, Perfect or Sweet Manhattan.

METHOD/RECIPE
50ml (1 & 2/3oz) Michter's straight rye whiskey
20ml (2/3oz) Antica Formula sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Orange twist (not used as a garnish, just for the oils) - lemon also works well
A Morello cherry to garnish
