Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on Saturday (21/6) received an
invitation from Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani
to attend a an Organisation of Islamic Conference summit in
Tehran, according to the official INA news agency.
The invitation to the December meeting was handed to the Iraqi
leader by visiting Iranian Health Minister Ali Reza Marandi, the
first time Saddam has received an Iranian presidential envoy
since the bloody 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.
