FRANCE IS NOT LEAVING AFRICA - IT IS CHANGING ITS METHOD
At the recent Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, President Emmanuel Macron presented France’s new posture towards the continent: less military dominance, more investment language; less old-style Françafrique, more talk of partnership, innovation and shared growth.
But behind the polished summit language lies a deeper dilemma. In this NEWSRECAP, WestAfrica.news looks back at the Nairobi summit, the investment promises, Africa’s changing global partnerships, and the question at the heart of the story:
Is this a genuine reset — or simply a smarter version of old influence?
