Injecting a GOUTy ankle joint

This guy went to the Emergency Room (ER) with a painful, swollen ankle. They gave him antibiotics and sent him on his way. He did not improve so he came to see us.

It's important to know what's going on inside the body in order to provide the right intervention. In this case we injected cortisone directly into the joint to help calm down the gout flare.
