Scary folklore stories from Russian countryside | Deviant History

This scary folklore story (bailichka) from Novgorod region, Russia was told in the area by a villager and then recorded by a folklore researcher. It is connected to the scary tradition of reading fortunes on the Christmas eve. According to local beliefs that is the time when creepy demonic creatures come in the human world and anybody can contact them being brave enough.
