Nikon D850 4K Video Test

This is the Nikon D850 DSLR 4K Video Test. I haven’t done a DSLR video for quite sometime now. Especially Nikon cameras. The last video that I reviewed was back in 2016. When I got my hands on the flagship Nikon body “The D5”. So what’s better over the two years old D5. First of all, the bitrate. The new D850 has increased the bitrate from 125mbps to now 144mbps. Its not a Hugh jump. But it is always welcome for video shooter. Second, the full frame mode. The original D5 only has the Super 35mm mode when shooting 4K. But the new D850 can shoot either full frame or crop mode. Just like the Sony A7III and A7RIII. Which is pretty handy.

The 4K image is very lovely during the day. But when it comes to low light shooting. You might need to consider switching cameras. The 45.7 Megapixel sensor isn’t for lowlight shooting, thats for sure. The lowlight performance was pretty bad. I could see a lot of noise when it hits to 1600 ISO. And 3200ISO is really unusable already. So I wouldn’t recommend this camera for wedding video as we always have to face to super lowlight situation.

Over all, its a pretty fun camera to use. I kind of miss the DSLR tough body design. Feels really good in hands. Thanks for watching, please subscribe for more videos like this ^.^
