Obstacle Course - Theme and Variations | A Kingdom Hearts V CAST arrangement

An original piano arrangement of "Obstacle Course" from Kingdom Hearts V CAST. This was created as part of the Concert Soirée for @MarchCaprice 4.0.

I've wanted to work with a song from Kingdom Hearts V CAST ever since I got to play it last year. If you’re not familiar with the V CAST soundtrack, each song is really short – often just eight, sixteen measures long – so I found that it lends itself well to the theme and variations format. I wanted to take this simple melody to its musical extreme, starting from a nearly one-to-one transcription and gradually building it into something far more complex. V CAST's composer, Ian Livingstone, said that the descending high piano motif in the Obstacle Course theme is a nod to "Dearly Beloved", so I tried to express that parallel in my arrangement. Also keep an ear out for a few other themes that have snuck their way into the piece. Thanks for listening!
