Window Concerts – a beautiful idea from Italy, which was hit hard by Corona. We are happy to contribute to this idea online. Our 19th greeting goes to Sweden. Composed by one of the greatest songwriter duos of our time, born in Gothenburg and Stockholm, better known as part of the legendary ABBA, one of the most successful bands in music history. Not to forget the great bass players Rutger Gunnarsson & Mike Watson, as well as drummer Ola Brunkert, who can be heard on all of ABBA's hits.
This wonderful song expresses in its title our thankfulness for the music that carried us through the Corona shutdown and continues to enrich our lives. What would we be without the music, without the arts in all its various facets!
And so it is time to thank all the composers, performers and artists for their everlasting gifts to us. Here in Europe, public life is slowly returning and we too will soon be able to play our first concerts again. Let us trust to come back, even if future concerts are still under security conditions. What remains is the music (or the painting, the sculpture, the reading, the cabaret evening...). Without concerts, exhibitions, museums etc. the arts die and with them our culture. Let us be strong and keep this treasure!
One final note: a few more parts of our window concerts will surely follow, but the summer break also is coming, in which I will remix our recorded songs to bring out a CD in autumn. With all songs of our series. A small impression of the CD sound is this current mastering.
