Hummingbird Design - Cuerda Seca Technique | Nature Series

Hello! The next tile in the nature series is this colorful hummingbird design. Hummingbirds are tiny, mighty, and beautiful birds in nature. They come in all sorts of colors but I chose to go with a more common color palette for this design. As always I am using a wax resist for the outline and Mayco Stroke & Coat Low Fire glaze for the coloring.

What is cuerda seca? It is a painting technique originating from Spain that uses a wax like substance to prevent different glaze colors from running together and keeps the colors in a designated area.
