Step-by-Step Guide
Open up the Settings app on your Android phone.

Scroll down a bit and tap on Apps (or App management depending on your phone brand).

Tap on See all apps and scroll down until you find Chrome. Tap right on it.

First, tap the Force stop button to completely halt the frozen app, then hit OK to confirm it.

Next, tap on Storage & cache (or sometimes it just says Storage).

Tap the Clear cache icon. (Don't worry, this just gets rid of temporary junk files causing the crash—all your bookmarks and saved passwords are totally safe!)

Hit your home button and open up the Google Play Store.

Search for Google Chrome and see if there is a blue Update button. Sometimes you just need the newest version to patch them random bugs!
