The importance of being different | Joel Bomgar | TEDxJackson
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. The history of innovation proves that simply being different can chart a course to tremendous success. This talk looks at examples in business and proposes an application in healthcare.
Joel Bomgar is founder and CEO of the Ridgeland-based technology company, Bomgar. In 2003, while working his way through college as a systems engineer, Joel Bomgar developed the idea for his company’s remote technical support product, which now serves more than 8,000 leading companies around the world. His product is ranked #1 in remote support for enterprise businesses and his company has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing private businesses in North America.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
