Closkelt Pipe Band plays in Aberdeen in the 2023 Grade One European Championships

This is Closkelt Pipe Band's March, Strathspey and Reel set in the Grade One Competition at the RSPBA's European Pipe Band Championships held in Duthie Park in Aberdeen on 24 June 2023.

The band is under the direction of Pipe Major David Chesney and the Drum Sergeant is Brendan Megoran. This is the band's second year as a Grade One band. The band is based in Closkelt, just 20 miles or so from Lurgan.

The set comprises the following tunes:
March: Dugald MacColl's Farewell to France - John MacColl
Strathspey: The Shepherd's Crook - traditional
Reel: John Garroway - Donald MacLeod

The championships were organised by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association in conjunction with Aberdeen Council and Aberdeen Inspired.
