⚠️ How to Run Without Knee/Hip/Ankle Pain!
First off, did anyone ever teach you how to run?? For 99% of people, the answer is no! And YES, there is TECHNIQUE to running just like with rowing, cycling, lifting weights, and… EVERYTHING regarding exercise!!
The source of most pain from running comes from crappy form that results from super supportive and squishy shoes! These shoes allow us to run like crap for a while and develop bad habits!
The main bad habit being: striding “out in front of you” and striking down with your heels every step! Ever try standing and jumping and landing on your heels? YOOOOOUUUUCHH!!
But we also don’t want to try to “land on the toes”! This is JUST AS BAD!!
The solution? Learning to run. Here’s the steps:
1️⃣ Find your “pose”. That happens when you simply pull your foot under you with as little effort as possible.
2️⃣ Switch to your other foot and find your pose there. Practice switching back and forth with as LITTLE EFFORT as possible.
3️⃣ Fall with gravity while doing the pose switch.
Those are literally the 3 steps. And with enough practice, it’ll feel more natural. You can literally start doing this at 1 mph and build up to ANY speed! When you go faster, you’ll NATURALLY pull your feet higher and won’t have to think about it!
Were you good at weights the first time you lifted? Were you good at rowing the first time? Were you good AT ANYTHING the first time you tried?? Of course you weren’t. And this is no different. Be patient and practice!
