In 2023, a new Liebherr ship to shore container crane went into service at Patrick Terminals – Brisbane AutoStrad, a state-of-the-art container terminal in Australia. The crane, which is cabinless, features extensive automation and utilises Liebherr's Remote Operator Station (ROS) for container handling over the vessel and for exception handling. The ROS allows the same level of crane control as an on-board operator but from the comfort of an office-based environment.

Sit back and enjoy the short film as we see the Liebherr STS being put through its paces, as it automatically interfaces with the automatic straddle carrier operation on the landside and uses remote control to pick and place containers on the container ship.
