Corrections Officer turned Reality Star Caught Sneaking Meth into Jail

@Cop Watch @Cop Watch obtained lapel footage of Santa Fe County, New Mexico deputies investigating and arresting a corrections officer for bringing meth into the facility. Lt. Cohen Mangin was seen on footage dropping a bag of meth on the grounds. The incident happened early in November of 2019.

Before Mangin was accused of carrying around a bag of meth on the job, he was first thrust into the spotlight as a rookie on the A&E show Behind Bars: Rookie Year.

The show highlights corrections officer recruits who are in training or working at the Penitentiary of New Mexico.

Mangin admitted bringing meth to work. An officer found a bag of meth near the main entrance.

According to a report, surveillance video showed Mangin drop it. At first, Mangin denied knowing anything, but when investigators said he was caught on camera, Mangin changed his story saying he used it during his break to stay awake.

Mangin was charged with possession of a controlled substance and bringing contraband into a jail. Those charges were dismissed without prejudice early in January of 2020.
