Thanks for tuning in! Be sure to watch till the end.

Trooper's Report:

On 01/07/2024 at approximately 2141 Tpr. Hilgeman and I were patrolling in the area of Laketon Ave and Dyson St. At that time we observed a white Ford Crown Victoria that matched the description of a freshly stolen vehicle, parked on the northwest corner of Laketon Ave and Dyson St. I turned around at the intersection of Jarman St to set up on the vehicle and notify other units. By the time I turned around, the vehicle was no longer where I originally saw it. We then headed back east on Laketon Ave in attempt to relocated the vehicle at which time we saw it driving south on Dyson St across Laketon Ave. We then observed the vehicle turn right to head west on Holbrook Ave. I caught up to the vehicle on Holbrook Ave near McIlwraith St at which time I was able to see the license plate and verify the vehicle was stolen. I activated my emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop at which point the driver accelerated and initiated a vehicle pursuit.
The driver, later identified as Jamere Brown, fled west on Holbrook Ave until he reached Wood St, at which point he ran the stop sign at the intersection and fled south on Wood St. Jamere continued to flee south on Wood St until he reached Summit Ave and headed west. While fleeing south on Wood St I observed my patrol vehicle’s speed to be 74mph and noticed Jamere was still pulling away from me. The speed limit on all streets during the pursuit is 25mph. It should be noted the speedometer on my patrol vehicle is independently calibrated and certified. While fleeing south on Wood St, Jamere did not stop or even attempt to slow down at the stop signs at the intersections of Hackley Ave, Sherman Blvd, Broadway Ave, and Summit Ave. Once Jamere reached Summit Ave he turned right to head west. Jamere fled west on Summit Ave until he reached Maffett St. While fleeing west on Summit Ave, Jamere did not stop or attempt to slow down for the stop sign/flashing red light at the intersection of Airline Rd. Jamere fled south on Maffett St and then ran the stop sign at Lincoln Ave to head west.
Jamere briefly lost control of the vehicle, went over the curb on the south side of Lincoln Ave, and then regained control and fled west on Lincoln Ave. Jamere dove through the island at the intersection of Lincoln Ave and Peck St and then started heading south on Peck St. At that time I lined up for a Precision Mobilization Technique (PIT Maneuver) and matched the right side of my front bumper to the left rear of the fleeing vehicle. I then turned into the vehicle at which time vehicle rotated counter clockwise. The vehicle rotated slowly around the front of my patrol car and then stopped when the passenger side tires struck the curb. At that time the occupants exited the vehicle in an attempt to run. Sgt. Walker and I were able to stop the driver as he was getting out of the passenger side of the vehicle and place him in handcuffs. The driver verbally identified himself as Jamere Brown. Jamere was placed in the front seat of my patrol car. Multiple officers were in the area where the pursuit was terminated and gave chase to the passengers who fled on foot. Tpr. Duck and Officer Everson (Muskegon Heights Police Department) caught one of the passengers, later identified as Jureellius Randle, a few feet away from the vehicle and placed him in handcuffs. He was
searched and two pistols were found on his person. One of the pistols, a 9mm Ruger
. The other pistol, a Wyoming Arms .45 Auto, and Jureellius also had five additional rounds of .45 Auto in his pocket. A third passenger, Da-quan Hicks, was caught by Tpr. Duck and Officer Cheatum in a yard in the 3200 block of Jefferson St. Tpr. Duck was able to keep his eyes on Da-Quan from the time he ran from the vehicle until he was caught.
Jamere and Jureelius were transported to the Muskegon County Jail where they were lodged. Da-quan was transported to the Muskegon County Juvenile Transition Center where he was lodged. A UD-23, Juvenile Apprehension Form, was completed for Da-quan. I contacted Da-quan’s mother, Gwenov Johnson, by phone and advised her of the situation. The vehicle was turned over to the registered owner, who privately requested Reliable Towing to tow the vehicle back to his residence.
