In this video guitar lesson we are going to take an in-depth look at how to play The Rolling Stones' classic (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction in it's entirety.

The opening guitar riff to "Satisfaction" is perhaps the most well known guitar riff ever written. It is pretty amazing what you can do with just 3 notes, if you have the musical imagination of Keith Richards.

In this I Can't Get No Satisfaction guitar lesson video, I will show you all the chords and riffs that made this song The Rolling Stones' first number one hit in the U.S.

Besides the opening riff, we will take a look at the chords Brian Jones is strumming on acoustic guitar throughout the song. There is basically two very simple chords progressions that you will need to learn. Those chords progression use only simple open position chords with a straight ahead rhythm throughout, so you probably won't have much of a problem getting it nailed down pretty quickly.

After that, the lesson gets a lot more in-depth, with a look at all of Keith Richards' guitar fills during all 3 verses. This is really where all the fun is. Keith Richards is constantly switching back and forth between a fuzz tone to play the main riff during the chorus, and a clean guitar tone for all of his bluesy solo work in the verses.

During these bluesy solo sections of the verse, Keith Richards uses lots of cool double-stops, slides and hammer-ons to keep the music very interesting underneath the verse vocals. All of that builds back up to the point that he kicks in the fuzz pedal again and launches into that classic main riff.

So have fun learning this Rolling Stones classic that is consistently voted as one of the greatest songs ever written. Not to mention it is full of cool guitar stuff!
