This time I decided to cover an all-time classic.

(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” was the first #1 single of the Stones in the U.S.

In the original recording, Brian Jones played acoustic guitar, while Keith Richards played electric with a clean sound during the verses, and fuzz for the chorus (using a Maestro Fuzz Tone pedal). Since the recording equipment in the mid-sixties was quite limited, Keith recorded both sounds on the same track. You can even hear the click of the pedal in the original song (0 min 36 s)!

Richards hadn’t intended for the famous fuzz riff to be part of the final version of the song, but to be used as a guide for adding a horn section at a later time.

I made some changes for my cover:

- I had to record the electric guitar in two different tracks, as I don’t own a real fuzz pedal.
- I recorded the “acoustic” part with a clean sound in my electric guitar, with headphones, not to disturb the neighbours : ). The idea was to record it with an acoustic guitar but I finally liked the result and decided to leave it like that.
- I used a blend of modern and vintage amp models.

Standard tuning: E A D G B e.

Gear used:

- Epi Les Paul 1960 Tribute Plus, with Gibson pickups.
- Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface.
- DAW, amp modeling and video editing software.
