We return to one of our favourite suburbs for eating- Panmure- for this video! Nasi Kandar Pulau Pinang specialises in traditional Malaysian cuisine- with their signature dish being the namesake of their restaurant: nasi kandar. This is the only place in NZ serving this meal of rice and curries and our first meal at this restaurant transported us back to Malaysia. Owned and operated by couple Chef Joe Singam and Alex Kumaran- Nasi Kandar Pulau Pinang began life as a market stall and morphed into a restaurant in Panmure. We’re so excited to share Chef Joe and Alex’s story with you.
