Since I Fell For You - Laura Lee - 1971

Laura Lee's 1971 cover version of the standard, Since I Fell For You, peaked at #24 on the Billboard chart in March of 1972. The original version was written and recorded by Buddy Johnson in 1945 for his sister, Ella Johnson, as the lead vocalist of the Buddy Johnson And His Orchestra. The Paul Gayten and His Trio featuring Annie Laurie popularized the song in 1947. It's been covered by numerous artists since including Lenny Welch in 1963, Charlie Rich in 1976 and Al Jarreau in 1987.
