Amir Timur (Tamerlane): Rise & Fall of the Timurid Empire | Central Asia History (Lecture 8)

In this lecture we talk about the most famous ruler of Central Asia: Amir Timur — known in the West as Tamerlane — and how the Timurid dynasty shaped the region in the late 14th and 15th centuries. We’ll start with the chaos after the Mongol era (Chagatai ulus), then follow Timur’s rise, his empire-building campaigns, what happened after his death in 1405, and why the empire quickly fragmented.
