This is a video in my new Core Concepts series -- designed to provide students and lifelong learners a brief discussion focused on one main concept from a classic philosophical text and thinker.
This Core Concept video focuses on William James' set of lectures, "Pragmatism: A New Name for Some Old Ways of Thinking", specifically on lecture 2, "What Pragmatism Means", and discusses how a pragmatist might look at the notion of the (fairly Hegelian) Absolute, considered as an object of religious belief.
