Homemade Peach Pie | Super Easy
Fresh Peach Pie
1 pkg. pre-made pie crust
1 egg beaten
5 c. sliced peeled peaches
2 T. lemon juice
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. ground cinnamon
1/4 t. ground nutmeg
1/4 t. Salt
2 T. butter
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Place 1 of the pie crusts in a 9" pie pan. Lightly brush the crusts with the egg. (this keeps the crust from getting soggy later on.)
Place the peaches in a large bowl, sprinkle with lemon juice. Gently mix. in another bowl whisk together sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Pour over peaches, mix well to coat. Pour the peaches onto the prepared pie crust. Dot with butter.
Cover the filling with the second pie crust. Flute the edges and brush the top with the egg. zcut several slots in the topcrust to allow the steam to escape.
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees and continue baking for 35 - 40 minutes.
If the edges are browning too quickly, cover with straps of aluminum foil about half way through the baking process.
Cool the pie for 20 - 30 minutes before serving.
NOTE: I used Splenda instead of sugar.
