Cuningar Loop Bouldering Design Fly Through (Glasgow)
Take a sneak peak at Scotland’s first outdoor bouldering park at Cuningar Loop.
Cuningar Loop is an exciting Legacy 2014 project that is transforming 15 hectares of derelict land on the banks of the River Clyde into an attractive woodland park – that’s the same as 15 large football pitches.
Sitting opposite to the Athlete’s Village, Cuningar Loop is just off Downiebrae Road by Dalmarnock Bridge and close to Rutherglen, Farme Cross and Dalmarnock communities.
The new woodland park is due to open in summer 2015 and will include an extensive path network with an activity zone, including - a bike skills park, bouldering park and adventure play facility, a trim trail, picnic areas, a large meadow and an amphitheatre for outdoor learning.
This video gives you a sneak peak of the proposed plans for Scotland’s first outdoor bouldering park. It gives an idea of the project concept and an impression of the scale the boulders. Contractors, Serious Climbing made this fly-through video by first sculpting the boulders in foam and then using a 3D modelling software to reproduce the boulders in virtual reality. Let us know what you think.
Feeling inspired? We’re looking for climbers to give us feedback and try out the design. If you’d like to get involved, please contact: joneen.clarke@forestry.gsi.gov.uk
