Hidden Stories of Private Historic Houses: Ballykilcavan Farm & Brewery

For the fourth week of this year's edition of our European Heritage Weeks project, we are taking you to Ballykilcavan in Ireland! In this video, you can appreciate the rich history and cultural heritage of the estate, as well as its remarkable family brewery. With this new project, entitled "Hidden Stories of Private Historic Houses", we intend to offer our audience more than a basic guided tour. We want to spotlight the passion, talent, courage and hard work of our owners, and to show what makes their home a truly special place. This new edition is an opportunity for people from all around the world to learn about the history and the importance of private historic houses in our common European heritage.

"We'll bring people in to do tastings in here, we can do food and beer pairings and bring them for a walk around the farm, telling all the stories, because people are really interested in stories, they're interested in heritage, they like meeting people from the family to bring them around these properties as well so I do the tours, bring people around, go into the brewery, show them how we make the beers and then bring them out here and give them a few samples afterwards."

The Ballykilcavan brewery is a remarkable family-owned business created with passion, a love for the community and a care for the stories and cultural heritage kept in the property.
