Fill with Test Medium: Introduce the test medium (air or nitrogen) into the heat exchanger. 

Increase Pressure Gradually: Slowly increase the pressure to the test pressure level. 

Maintain Test Pressure: Hold the test pressure for a specified duration (e.g., 10 minutes). 

Inspect for Leaks: Carefully inspect all joints, connections, and welds for any leaks using soap solution or other detection methods. 

Depressurize: Slowly reduce the pressure to a safe level. 

Final Inspection: Conduct a final visual inspection for any remaining leaks. 

Record Results: Document the test pressure, duration, and any observed leaks. 

Important Considerations:

Safety:

Ensure proper safety precautions are in place, including the use of safety glasses and protective clothing, as well as clear marking of the test area. 

Test Medium:

Use a non-flammable and non-toxic gas, such as nitrogen, for the test medium. 

Pressure Gauges:

Use calibrated pressure gauges with appropriate ranges to monitor the pressure accurately. 

Leak Detection:

Utilize methods like soap solution or dye testing to identify any leaks. 

Code Compliance:

Ensure the test procedure complies with relevant industry codes and standards.
