120Hz Fix For Xbox Series X Over DisplayPort...Maybe? HDMI to DP Adapter Tested!

Can we fix 120Hz on Xbox Series X for more monitors using a DisplayPort adapter? In this video we test an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter from Club 3D. The goal is to try to solve an ongoing issue with Xbox and Monitor compatability. If you have a monitor that is high refresh rate (120Hz or more) but you are not able to obtain that refresh rate on your Xbox, then I suggest checking out this adapter. It solves two things:

Firstly, some monitors don't support high refresh rate over HDMI (you have to read your manual to see if they do). They may only support over displayport, which we will attempt to solve with this adapter.

Secondly, we're trying to open up the compatibility of the timing tables by using the DisplayPort. This is different from an EDID emulator such as the HDFury where you dial in the EDID yourself..this will only work if your monitor supports the timing the Xbox is looking for over DP port. Your monitor has a higher chance of supporting this if it doesn't support the EDID over HDMI though.

I cannot say that this will work for EVERY gaming monitor but...if you're having compatibility issues, it is worth the effort to try out and save yourself from buying a new monitor!
