George Washington 2007 Dollar coins PF 69 Ultra Cameo

Presidential $1 Coin Program

The Presidential $1 Coins were introduced as a result of the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005, which requires the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue $1 coins honoring the United States Presidents in the order in which they served.
Each President is honored with a single $1 coin, regardless of the number of consecutive terms he served, except for Grover Cleveland, the only United States President to serve non-consecutive terms. He is honored on two coins. No living former or current President can be honored on a coin.
a total of 4 different presidential design versions are issued each year
The designers of the obverse are various.
They are legal tender
The coin is composed of a Copper with manganese brass cladding:
The new Presidential $1 Coins are identical in color and size to the Golden Dollar featuring Sacagawea
The obverse of the George Washington 2007 Dollar coin features the bust portrait of the United States First President, George Washington. Above his portrait is the presidents name, underneath you will find the sequential number of his presidency and the years he served in office.
George Washington was the first President of the United States serving two consecutive terms from(1789–1797), he was the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He presided over the convention that drafted the current United States Constitution
The Electoral College unanimously elected Washington as the first president in 1789,[l] and again 1792;[146] He remains the only president in history to receive 100% of the electoral votes.
During Washington's time in office he established many precedents, still in use today, such as the cabinet system, the inaugural address, and the title Mr. President.[4][5]
He voluntarily retired from the presidency in 1797, returning to his home and plantation at Mount Vernon.
The traditional inscriptions of "E Pluribus Unum," "In God We Trust," the date and the mint mark are uniquely featured on the edge of this coin.
The reverse of this coin, created by Don Everhart, has the same common design, that being a rendition of the statue of liberty. The inscription: United states of America and the coins denomination of one dollar are also present.

From 2007 to 2011, presidential $1 coins were minted for circulation in large numbers, resulting in a large stockpile of unused $1 coins.
Since 2012, new presidential coins have been minted only for collectors.
OK, As promised, here is the answer to the trivia question:
Did you know why George Washington never actually signed the Declaration of Independence?
In July 1776 General Washington was in New York preparing to defend Manhattan against the British. So he couldn’t be present for the signing of the document.
