PGS Electrical Engineer Minesh Patel carries out a full electrical safety inspection in a house in Battersea, South West London.

This job involves testing the fuse board, all the circuits, the lights and all the sockets.

After firstly showing us the location of the electricity meter, along with where the main electricity cable comes into the property, Minesh quickly gets to work.

One of his first jobs is to replace a switch on the immersion heater, simply because the light on it isn't working. Minesh then moves on to add a sleeve to an earth core in a plug socket, a problem that he'd noticed on his visual inspection earlier in the job.

Then at [2.08] Minesh deals with some badly installed connections in a strip light, which the customer had reported to him was flickering when in use.

Minesh then talks us through that he's spotted there being no main earthing cable connected to the main water pipe coming into the house, which being a category one failure on the electrical report must be dealt with immediately.

Full inspection completed - Minesh gives us a re-cap on all the jobs in the house that he'd completed, including the fitting of a new switch to control the outside light.

Minesh then concludes "Now the house is up to scratch, fully meeting all regulations and safe for the customer to use!"
