Five BNSF Locomotives, Many Different Paint Schemes! Railfanning BNSF Trains In Washington.

In this railfan drone video of the BNSF train yard at the Port Of Pasco in Southeastern Washington state, you can see five BNSF locomotives standing by for an eastbound trip. What I found interesting about this was how many different paint color schemes these locomotives had. I see at least three different variations in the train liveries, and maybe even four... including all three of the different heritage paint schemes: H1, H2, and H3.

Train #1061 has the H1 color scheme.
Train #4384 and #5243 have the H2 paint scheme.
And while the H3 swoosh paint schemes on train #8171 and #3912 are very similar to each other, I'm pretty sure that the BNSF lettering on #3912 is smaller than the one on 8171. I think it's especially apparent in the second half of the video, when the drone is moving from left to right and is a little closer to these train engines than it was in the first part of the video.

Do you agree? Is the BNSF lettering on 3912 smaller than the BNSF on 8171? Or am I imagining it? In any case, I love that there is such a variety in the paint schemes! You never know which one you're going to see when railfanning.

Each of the trains uses the orange & black color scheme, but it's fun to notice the variations. Of course, a true BNSF railfan knows that there are actually MANY more variations to the BNSF livery than just the few you see here.

It's too bad that there wasn't a Santa Fe style warbonnet livery in the group. That would have put me over the moon! That's actually my favorite BNSF paint scheme to spot when railfanning.
