Tour de France 2002 - stage 11 - Pau to La Mongie (Col du Tourmalet), 158 km.
The first big mountain stage was in the pyrenees. Laurent Jalabert went on a solo big ride. Lance Armstrong teammate Roberto Heras was super strong and only Josepha Beloki could follow. And a young Ivan Basso showed he had a bright future.

Meanwile danish champion Michael Sandstød crashed on a decent, and had to abandon the race because of serious injury.
