Rolling With Maligiaq: Greenland Kayaking Technique (1999)

Maligiaq Johnsen Padilla won the 1998 kayaking championship of Greenland at the age of 16. He is the youngest kayaker to ever win this honor. This videotape was made during Maligiaq's year-long visit to the USA.

Here Maligiaq demonstrates most of the 30 capsizing maneuvers that are done in the annual Greenland championships. Many of them are shown from behind in order to follow the movement . He also explains various paddling strokes. This videotape is the culmination of many years of research in order to provide the clearest record of traditional kayaking survival maneuvers ever made.
