From the GH5 to the A7SIII

The learning curve is steep!! From the GH5 to the A7SIII in real time, in Iceland, in winter. This was a bad idea.

The A7SIII is an awesome camera as we all know. How does it stack up with the GH5? After 5 years of shooting the GH5 these are some of my first impressions.

***Disclaimer. This video was shot primarily in Auto WB and ISO. The Auto ISO is fine because the camera is so bloody good in low light. BUT the Auto White Balance is rough in this video. The snow throws it off pretty bad in multiple clips. I won't be making that mistake again in the future. A little tip which I didn't do, is to match your skin tones with the appropriate white balance for the given scene and then record in that setting, every time. I know this, I just didn't do it.

ADVANTAGES I noticed right away:
- Better low light performance by far
- Way better auto focus
- No rolling shutter
- full frame
- 240fps in HD
- 120 in 4K obviously
- sharper image quality

DISADVANTAGES I noticed:
- Price
- Lenses (heavier, bigger, more expensive)
- No 90fps option in S&Q
