Episode 13: The Greatness of Herons Part 8

Great Blue Herons are beautiful and their chicks are cute, but they are animals, and that makes them cunning and calculating killers. Their survival instincts start early and the heron chicks are showing just how ready they are to become self-sufficient adults. In this episode I manage to capture another feeding and try to learn more about their world. Am I a birder yet? Maybe not, but at least I'm social distancing and enjoying nature while I fail at becoming one.

The Greatness of Herons series won a bronze Telly Award in 2021 in the category of Social Media: Education and Discovery.
