The Gun Club - Black Train (live, 1983 - fast version)

Fueled by an extreme intake of alcohol and controlled substances, the Gun Club ripped through their early '83 tour of Europe like a whirlwind. The individual who provided this tape concisely summarizes this blindingly intense set as follows: "You would think that Jeffrey Lee was being chased by the devil himself [...] the pace at times is reckless, and the vocals become frantic. It's surprising the songs don't derail themselves. Somehow they manage to stay on track." Pretty much says it all, in my opinion. Recorded on March 24, 1983 at the Lyceum in London, England.
