The NEW D&D Monster Manual for the 2025 version of D&D is out. Out of all the books and updates, I pretty much only looked forward to the monster changes, because the enemies are the highlight of the game for me. There has been some rebalancing and some great art on display. Simplifications have been put into some statblocks to make running the game easier, including the removal of a lot of abilities in a statblock and the intense number of spells. Overall, I like the changes and the aesthetic of the book in general. However, I'm not exactly going to fall for the COMPLETELY NEW creatures claim, because there has been a lot of variant statblocks made for existing creatures. But, I think that if you're new to the game or you're using the new D&D rules then this is worth purchasing an using.
