The Best 5 Ways to Create an Online Course
I found the top 5 platforms you can use to build, upload and sell your course. And also the best how-to videos for each platform, without having to buy a course on how to build a course
The Best 5 ways to create an Online Course
Segway: and tbh guys, I’m doing this video to help you pick the home for your course, but the big deal is going to be about your content and how you advertise your course.
1. Teachable
Here are the details:
- You need around $29 for the Basic Plan or just try it out for free or if you really wanna get fancy pay $399 for a business plan with business feature
- But I you ask me the best deal is to just do it for free or start with the $29 plan, and once you learn the basics, then upgrade.
- With Teachable you can:
Use Coupon Codes
Affiliate marketing to help sell your course
Create quizzes and more

- I like the video because, its free, and easy to understand.
2. Udemy
Here are the details:
- They have over 30million students on that udemy, and if you got literally .1% of that per month in profits, that’s 30k per month ( not that bad right )
- Heres the catch:
If you sell your own udemy Course, they only charge 3%
But if the person finds your udemy course on their own with udemy promotions and so: Udemy takes 50%
But wait: If Udemy Spend Money to get that customer to buy your Course, they’ll get 75% and you’ll get 25%
My Opinion: Now when I first read this, I got a little mad
- But then I realized that youtube takes 45% of the revenue from Youtuber also
- And on average people pay 50% for affiliate marketing, so it’s the same business model.
Conclusion: I think Udemy if building a course and just having Udemy do all the work.

3. Skillshare
Here are the details:
- On skillshare you can become a teacher, however, you’re not really selling your course
- Skillshare is based on a monthly membership and the way you get paid is with royalties for people that watch your course and join with your link
- The money Side:
Every person that joins with your link: pays you $10
When someone takes your course you get paid Money royalties each month ( on average first-time teachers get $200 bucks per month )

Conclusion: The only downside is that you make the course and then get paid per minute and not per sale in a sense. But this could be a solid way to make a course and leave it
4. Your own Website and Keeping all the Profits ( I recommend WordPress)
Here Are the Details:
- The idea is to build a landing page and website for your course with Word Press
- To do this you will need two things, Plugings and a word press website
- Heres how it works:
You Can use LearnDash plugin for word press: it lets you create a course within your word press website
Cost: $159 to start annual or the highest premium is $329 bucks
Basically: $13.25 cents instead of paying teachable $29 bucks or udemy 75% of your profits
Conclusion: This is great, for someone who is going to put in the work, day in and day out. ( and already has a large audience to funnel students)

5. Thinkific ( It’s a special name I guess)
The details:
So the catch is: although they offer templates, landing pages, and even a free membership, they do charge a 10% transaction fee for the free memberships
If you want to Premium: it’ll cost between $49 - $279 per month
But to be honest: The Free membership has everything you need to start, sell and market your course.
- So I would start there and then decide if you wanted to invest in a membership
But overall: If you want
- Webinar
- Free and paid courses
- Drip content
- And Shopify
Then it’s a solid course
