Facebook whistleblower reveals social media companies' tactics to lure children | 60 Minutes

Frances Haugen was a product manager at Facebook before she left her position and took thousands of internal documents that reveal allegations the social media giant knew its platforms were damaging the mental health of young people.

Her revelations and testimony before a United States Senate hearing have become integral in the legal cases social media companies are now facing in relation to the disregard of online safety for children.

This interview was conducted in 2024, a year before Australia introduced a social media ban for people under the age of 16.
