1. On October 25, Russia and China reportedly vetoed a United States-drafted United Nations Security Council draft resolution on the situation in Palestine and Israel, and the UAE also voted against it. Because of the opposition of the U.S. and the U.K., the draft resolution drafted by Russia was also not adopted, either. Can you introduce its relevant position?

China's position is based on facts and justice, and responds to the strong call of the international community, especially the Arab countries. China has no self-interest in the question of Palestine, and will firmly support any proposal that is conducive to peace, and will do its utmost to contribute to Palestinian-Israeli reconciliation.
Since the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, China has actively called on the Security Council to take meaningful action and make binding decisions on the situation in Palestine and Israel as soon as possible. At the same time, the actions and decisions of the Security Council must respect history and facts, take the right direction, reflect due responsibility and accountability, and listen to and respect the positions and voices of the Arab countries.
China is willing to continue to work with the members of the Security Council and the international community to play a responsible and constructive role in halting the fighting, protecting civilians, avoiding a greater humanitarian disaster, and realizing a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the question of Palestine.

2. Reports said Foreign Minister Wang Yi is expected to meet with US President Joe Biden tomorrow in the US. Can you confirm this?

3. It has been reported that senior EU officials have expressed strong concern to the U.S. over the executive order on investment restrictions on China signed by U.S. President Joe Biden in August, fearing that the executive order may lead to the impact on EU companies investing in China and the US. What are China's comments on this?

China has always opposed the politicization of economic, trade and sci-tech issues. Interfering with exchanges and cooperation among other countries by economic coercion, long-arm jurisdiction and other non-market behaviors at every turn runs counter to the trend of economic globalization of division of labor and cooperation and complementarity of advantages. It is unpopular and not in the interests of any party. China will, as always, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all parties and safeguard the multilateral trading system, while at the same time resolutely defending its own legitimate rights and interests.

4. U.S. President Joe Biden said that Chinese vessels have taken threatening and illegal actions against Philippine ships in the South China Sea, and he reiterated the U.S. commitment to defend the Philippines. Any comment?

The U.S. is not a party to the South China Sea issue and has no right to intervene in the issues between China and the Philippines. The U.S. commitment to the defense of the Philippines must not undermine China's sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in the South China Sea, let alone use it to bolster the Philippines' illegal rights and interests claims.

5. We note that the 10th China-Arab Civilization Dialogue Seminar was recently held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) against the backdrop of the ongoing escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Can you share more details?
