0:00 How to Create a Privacy Policy For Your Blog For Free
1:20 GDPR
2:03 ePrivacy Regulations
2:42 CCPA
3:42 Problem that Most Sites Have
4:57 Termly Tutorial
The legal aspect of your blog or website is, simply, one of the most boring issues to deal with. It’s confusing, it’s complicated, and unless you have a lawyer on retainer, it becomes a really difficult task to try to keep up to date with all of the different changing laws. Building a proper privacy policy is essential in this process and today I’m going to explain how you can do that for free, as well as make yourself completely compliant with all of the other privacy laws and regulations out there.
• GDPR: This is legislation that the EU approved back in early 2016 and businesses were given 2 years to comply with new stipulations for collecting and using consumers’ personal data. Summing it up, the European Union strengthened the consumer’s right to control their personal data.
• ePrivacy Regulations: The European Union ePrivacy regulation has been published to broaden the scope of the current ePrivacy Directive and align the various online privacy rules that exist across EU member states.
• CCPA: The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 gives consumers more control over the personal information that businesses collect about them. This landmark law secures new privacy rights for California consumers.
• The problem that most sites have:
- Policies not always up to date with new regulations
- SUPER annoying consent boxes across the whole website
- Probably not complying in the first place
• Termly Tutorial (http://onehourprofessor.com/termly)
- Solves problem of policies always being up to date
- Only shows consent boxes when needed to blog or website visitors
- You’ll be compliant, it’s what their business does
