Australians are witnessing the ‘trampling of the Constitution’
Sky News contributor Catherine McGregor says we are explicitly seeing the trampling of the Constitution of Australia with how some citizens are being treated amid tough border closures and restrictions.
Families wanting to visit people in Queensland or receive urgent medical treatment have been denied exemptions, with one instance resulting in the death of one of a NSW mother’s unborn twins.
“Our framers did not intend this to be a customs union or some kind of extended municipal admiration society,” Ms McGregor told Sky News host Alan Jones.
“We are seeing really quite explicit trampling on the Constitution of Australia.
“These border closures and in particular the circumstances of those families is a complete violation.”
